The head of the Lebanese Doctors Syndicate,
Sharaf Abu Sharaf, issued an urgent warning, calling for a general lockdown in the country until the arrival of the Corona vaccine, stressing that there is no solution other than that.
Abu Ashraf confirmed that there are no longer empty beds in hospitals, nor in intensive care to receive patients.
He emphasized that the numbers are increasing very quickly in a way that the country cannot afford, indicating that the available resources cannot be qualified to take care of those cases that are increasing in a steady manner.
He stressed that “there is no interim solution until the vaccine arrives and there is a treatment for Corona, except for a general closure and a commitment to preventive measures.”
The statements of the head of the Lebanese Doctors’ Syndicate came after his meeting with the Maronite Patriarch, Mar Beshara Boutros Al-Rahi, in Bkerke.
Abu Sharaf briefed the “shepherd” on the general health situation in Lebanon during the Corona crisis, and asked him to add his voice to the voice of the Doctors Syndicate by heading to citizens to take the seriousness of the Corona epidemic seriously, and to adhere to the preventive guidelines from wearing masks, social distancing and washing hands.
