U.S. Sanctions Hit Russian Research Institute

The U.S. administration has imposed sanctions on the Central Scientific Research Institute for Russian Chemistry and Mechanics for its “connection to cyberattacks.”
The U.S. Treasury Department announced the imposition of sanctions on the Institute in accordance with the “CaATSA Act, considering that the Institute has a relationship with Triton software that was used to target electronic systems for industrial facilities in America.
For his part, the Russian ambassador to The United States rejected the accusations, stressing the illegality of any unilateral sanctions, saying: “Russia, unlike the United States, does not carry out any cyber attacks,” calling on the United States to abandon hostile practices and baseless accusations.
