Qatar at Petersburg Forum: Differences with neighboring countries can be resolved through dialogue

Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani stated that Iran is our close neighbor and good relations with it are important and important to us, and we are ready to play the role of an honest mediator in various issues in the region.
The statement came during the Qatari Foreign Minister’s participation in the West Asia and North Africa Dialogue session, “Steps towards Stability,” within the framework of the Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The Qatari foreign minister said there should be no escalation between the United States and Iran.
The Qatari foreign minister stressed that differences between Iran and neighboring countries can be resolved through direct dialogue.
Bin Abdul Rahman pointed out that there is consensus on the Arab initiative and the Quartet to resolve the conflict in the Middle East, considering that Israel’s accusation of Qatar funding some terrorist organizations is part of a misleading campaign against Doha.
On the Syrian issue, the Qatari foreign minister said that his country does not seek to restore diplomatic relations with Syria as long as there is no change on the ground.
On Lebanon, the Qatari Foreign Minister said that the crisis in Lebanon is worrying for everyone, and it is a country that suffers from a dangerous situation.
Last Wednesday, the work of the Petersburg International Economic Forum, which will be held in person (face to face), started, taking into account health prevention measures, and using modern digital technologies.
The number of participants in the forum this year is about 5,000 thousand, and the State of Qatar is participating in the forum with a large delegation and as a guest of honor.
