Iran began the stage of electoral silence, twenty-four hours before the start of voting in the thirteenth Iranian presidential elections, to choose a new president for a term of four years.
Voting begins at seven in the morning tomorrow, Friday, and continues until midnight, with the possibility of extending it until two in the morning.
The polls will take place in about 70,000 polling stations in 31 provinces, where more than 59 million Iranians are entitled to vote.
The competition is contested by four candidates, three from the conservative movement: Ibrahim Raisi, head of the judiciary, Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of the Expediency Council, Amir Hossein Qazizadeh Hashemi, former first deputy speaker of parliament, and moderate candidate Abdel Nasser Hemmati, former governor of the Central Bank of Iran .
The latest opinion polls published by the government “ESPA” Center indicate that 42% of Iranians will participate in the elections, and that candidate Ebrahim Raisi is the most likely candidate, with 63.7% of those who participated in the poll, while Mohsen Rezaei was followed by a wide margin with 8.9%. , then Abdel Nasser Hemmati with 4.2%, then the candidate Amir Hussein Qazi Zadeh Hashemi with 3%.
