“Rai Al-Youm” newspaper, run by Palestinian journalist Abdel Bari Atwan from London, said that a Saudi delegation headed by the intelligence service, Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Humaidan, visited Syria, today, Monday, and met Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad.
The newspaper added, citing Syrian sources, that the two sides agreed to restore all relations between the two countries.
She indicated that they also agreed on the return of a Saudi delegation on a lengthy visit to Damascus after Eid al-Fitr in the middle of this month, and the two parties also agreed to reopen the Saudi embassy in Damascus, as a first step to restore relations in all fields between the two countries.
With the withdrawal of the sources, Saudi Arabia welcomed the return of Syria to the Arab League, and the attendance of the next summit conference in Algeria.
