The Russian embassy sent a memorandum to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs requesting full information about Russian citizens imprisoned in Egypt.

The Russian ambassador to Cairo, Georgy Borisenko, explained that the talk is about citizens of both Ingushetia and the Republic of Kabardin Balkar, who were taken into custody after the deportation of five Russian citizens from Egypt in December and January.

Pointing out that the embassy wants to know what charges are against these two citizens and why they were not released, along with other former prisoners, adding that the Russian side will insist on their “urgent release.”
