Liverpool was banned from entering Germany for a match

German authorities have refused to issue a travel permit for English club Liverpool, to play a match with Razen Ball Sport Leipzig in the European Champions League this month.

According to the media, the German Federal Police rejected a request made by the host club to obtain a special permit that would have allowed Liverpool to travel to Leipzig for the first-leg match of the round of 16 on February 16, despite the restrictions imposed to contain the spread of the Coronavirus

For its part, the Federal Police said in a statement, “The Federal Police informed Club Leipzig today that the issue does not fall under the category of exceptional circumstances.”

According to the sports sites, Leipzig will now have to search for an alternative stadium for the confrontation and the European Union (UEFA) must notify of any change by next Monday.
