Lebanese government intends to ease Corona restrictions in stages

Lebanon’s caretaker government announced that the strict lockdown imposed due to the Coronavirus will be eased gradually in four two-week phases, starting from Monday.

In a statement, Caretaker Prime Minister Hassan Diab said that although Sunday will be the last day for the complete closure, some restrictions will remain in effect on Monday, adding: “We will continue to implement measures that prevent the return to before the general closure.”

In turn, Interior Minister Mohamed Fahmy confirmed that in the first two weeks of the lighter restrictions, those wanting to leave their homes will need to apply for permission on the online platforms available.
