Italy addresses an urgent request to European Union

With the aim of obtaining approval for its use in vaccinating the population, Italy sent an urgent request to the European Medicines Agency to speed up the procedures for evaluating the Russian vaccine “Sputnik V”.
In a press statement, the Italian Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, said: “We should not fear vaccines from different countries. It is important that these vaccines obtain the approval of the European Medicines Agency (EMA). We have asked the European Union to accelerate the scientific evaluation of the Russian vaccine and vaccines from other countries.”
A number of officials in the Italian provinces stressed the need for the government to expedite the purchase of the Russian “Sputnik v” vaccine against Corona, without wasting time.
