Italian president authorizes former central bank governor to form government

Italian President Sergio Mattarella authorized former European Central Bank Governor Mario Draghi to form a new government. Draghi will have to hold talks with political parties to try to rally support for a government that will take charge of managing Italy’s coronavirus and economic crises.

Draghi is known for his discretion, seriousness and determination. He is a BA in economics and holds a PhD in the same field from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the prestigious American university.
