European Union criticizes decision to open Kosovo embassy in Jerusalem

European Union criticized the decision by the Kosovo region to open an embassy in Jerusalem, although it considered normalizing relations between the two sides to remain a good thing.

European Union High Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell considered that Brussels’s criticism centered on the location of the opening of the embassy chosen by Kosovo, meaning Jerusalem, and “it is something that goes against European decisions.”

It is noteworthy that only the United States and Guatemala set up an embassy in Jerusalem, while other countries, including Malawi and Honduras, promised to take this step.
