Erdogan: We will withdraw from Libya if other foreign forces withdraw first

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that Turkey would consider withdrawing its forces from Libya under one condition, which is “the withdrawal of other foreign forces first from Libya.”

Erdogan considered that the presence of his forces in Libya “is based on the call of the legitimate government, which is internationally recognized, and based on military cooperation agreements.”

Erdogan criticized French President Emmanuel Macron, saying that the latter “says that Turkey should withdraw its forces from Libya. I tell him: Get your forces out of Mali and Chad first.”

He continued: “The person who presides over France continues his attacks against me and targets me, I tell him what you want from attacking me? Before attacking me, you must atone for your massacres in Algeria and the rest of African countries.”
