Dutch government calls on citizens to stay home

After news of snowstorms with speeds of up to 90 kilometers per hour and snowfall of up to 20 centimeters, the Dutch government appealed to its citizens to stay at home.

In the first climate warning of its kind nationwide in nine years, the National Weather Institute raised the warning level to the highest level across the country, anticipating snowstorms.

Health authorities said they would close all coronavirus testing centers on Sunday, while train services would be cut to a minimum.
