Djokovic to the quarter-finals

World number one Serbian Novak Djokovic qualified for the quarter-finals of the Rome Tennis Tournament on Thursday, with an easy victory over Spaniard Alejandro Davidovic Fukina 6-2, 6-1, in a match that took place in the shadow of the crowd for the first time since the start of the tournament.
It was not difficult for Djokovic, the five-time champion of Rome, last year to exclude the world number 48 in the “Foro Italico” stadium, which received 25 percent of its public capacity, due to the repercussions of the Corona virus.
The 33-year-old reported his happiness with the return of the fans, saying, “It was not good, but wonderful. I miss the fans.” And he added, “It is nice to see them return.”
After losing his opening serve in the first set, Djokovic responded by breaking his opponent’s serve 5 times in a row to dampen Fukina’s efforts to follow up on his surprises, winning two sets and the match.
The winner of 18 major titles in the Grand Slam championships hit a date with the Greek Stefanos Tsetsipas, fifth, the winner over Italian Matteo Perrettini, the ninth, by 7-6 (7-3), 6-2.
In the second match, American Riley Oblka defeated Russian Aslan Karatsev 7-6 (8-6), 6-4.
