Appointed a senior diplomat at Israeli Embassy in Ankara

Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced, in a statement, that Israel has appointed the diplomat, Irit Lillian, to the position of Chargé d’Affairs of the Israeli Embassy in Ankara.

According to Israeli media reports, Lilian is “a prominent diplomat and expert in Turkish affairs. She previously held the position of Israeli ambassador to Bulgaria, which has a 259 km land border with Turkey.”

reports considered that “the appointment of Lillian implies a very important signal by the Israeli Foreign Ministry, which bears a hint to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that Tel Aviv is paving the way for renewing the warmth in relations between the two countries.”
