A new US decision on “green cards” and visas

Before the end

of its scheduled period today, the 31st of this month, US President Donald Trump decided to extend the validity of restrictions on the issuance of “green cards” and some types of entry visas to the country, for an indefinite period with the possibility of canceling them by a decision of the American President.

It is noteworthy that Trump issued a decree last April to suspend the issuance of “green card” residence cards, in addition to work visas, student visas and visas for family members of foreign workers.

Following the extension decision, the US media spoke of President-elect Joe Biden’s intention to cancel these restrictions after assuming the presidency, as he had pledged to reconsider many of Trump’s immigration decisions.
