Details of Bolivia coach’s altercation with Messi

Lucas Nava, bolivia’s physical coach, spoke about the altercation between him and Lionel Messi of Argentina, after the end of the match that brought the two teams together in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
Messi got into an altercation with Nava, and then scuffled with Marcelo Martinez, the Bolivian striker.
In his remarks, Nava said that what happened was just a “misunderstanding of the Argentine star. I grew up watching Messi, he’s the best player ever, I like him as a player, i even named my son Lionel after him.”
The coach added: “As soon as the confrontation ended, I saw an argument between the players, I wanted to separate them so that things would not get worse and no one would get fired, but it seems that there was a misunderstanding, in the end these things happen inside the stadium.”
“I received insults and threats because of what happened with Messi, and it pains me most that my children hear what is being said about me,” Nava said.
