After receiving information about the participation of Greek citizens in the Karabakh battles, the press office of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry announced that the Azerbaijani ambassador to Greece had been summoned for consultations.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry said: “In the context of the new aggression committed by the Armenian armed forces against the Republic of Azerbaijan on September 27 of this year, we informed the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs with information about the arrival of Armenian citizens from foreign countries, including Greece, to the Azerbaijani lands. In order to provide information to the other party, a request was submitted to investigate this. After the Greek side decided to summon its ambassador for consultations, the ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Greek Republic was summoned to Baku for consultations.
For its part, the Greek Foreign Ministry described the statements of the Azerbaijani government as unacceptable, regarding the permission of the Greek state regarding attempts to recruit terrorists to participate in the conflict in Nagorno Karabakh and summoned the Greek ambassador to Azerbaijan to Athens for consultations.
