The Arsenal playmaker, Mesut Ozil, has been excluded from the squad in the European Football League for the 2020-2021 season, fueling speculation that his last match was with the rival club in the Premier League.
The 31-year-old contract extends to June 2021, and gets 350,000 pounds ($ 452,000) a week, but he did not participate in any games this season and started 18 matches in the Premier League last season.
Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta said last month that his “team” is developing, “and that the German midfielder will find it difficult to enter the squad, which has raised doubts about his future at the club.”
Socrates Papastathopoulos and William Saliba were also excluded from the European list.
Arsenal meet Rapid Vienna in Group Two of the European League in Austria, on October 22, before facing Dendalk of Ireland and his Norwegian birth.
