As the Turkish Central Bank increased its gold reserves through direct purchases by 451.4 tons during the period from May 2017 until October 2020.
Turkey ranks 12th in the world in the list of the largest central banks possessing gold, with reserves estimated at 567.9 tons, equivalent to 44.8 percent of the total reserve assets of the central bank. .
